Get in the groove the night before
You’ve probably heard of chia seeds, but what’s all the fuss about and what to do with them?
Think of chia seeds as a super protein shot. They are packed with amino acids (the building blocks of protein) and the right mixture of Omega 3 and 6 which are so good for you. Unlike the rather over rated linseed which is encased in a tough shell that lets most of the seeds pass through you undigested, chia seeds can be activated in water to open up the delicate shell and expose their valuable contents for maximum digestability.
Last thing at night, put a heaped teaspoon of chia seeds into a tumbler, add the juice one fresh lime, a large dash of water and a squeeze of unrefined honey to taste. Stir it up and leave it overnight. When you wake up you’ve got a protein powered vitamin shot (courtesy of the lime juice) with a little natural sugar to perk you up and get you in the mood for anything. For extra stimulation and an anti-inflammatory action, add a teaspoon of finely grated root ginger.
